a group of curious, kind, multi-passionate humans using tarot to play, project and  connect.

September 2026 - January 2027

(the downfall of any society is thinking it's permanent)

tarot attracts Cool People…

The kind who go from depth psychology, to land healing, to Ted Lasso, to deconstructing religion, to the cool bird they just saw outside, and back again, all in the same ten minutes.

THE PROBLEM…

Sometimes we have trouble finding each other because we are so all over the place.

Here's the NOt Secret…

The Society isn't

  • about reading tarot
  • about learning tarot
  • about talking tarot

This Society is

using tarot as a lure and a way to  bring us together and connect.

How Does This Work?

Fire Up Your Imagination

Tarot IS the Chariot (aka our society minivan)…

It's the thing that we use to get to our destinations: play, projection, & connection.

You don't need to know anything about tarot to join because…

what we are really doing is reacting to the image on the cards and allowing that reaction to unveil the threads that connect us all.

What Will This Look Like?

The Ride

  1. Initiation (September): Everyone learns what to expect on the trip, and how the society works.
  2. Meetings (October-January): Each month is a pit stop, based on a tarot suit: Intellect, Emotions, Behavior, Energy.
  3. Zines and the Society Directory: Help us find each other and learn more between trips.
  4. Dissolution (end of January): We're not trying to drive our society into the ground, everyone gets out at the same time and then we smash the wheels of the chariot.

What Will It Feel Like?

LESS FRICTION. MORE COMFORT.

It's uncomfy to awkwardly DM someone after one meetup. It's uncomfy to show up to 96 events before you feel comfortable enough to say hi.

But you know what's also uncomfy?

The constant ping of a group chat.

More access doesn't mean more connection.

Often it just means more static, and more to keep up with.

Here is what we do instead:

  • No new apps to download.
  • No notifications to mute.
  • No group chats.
  • Yes to snail mail.
  • Yes to small groups.
  • Yes to transparently sharing contact preferences.

What Will I Get?

Members get…

  1. Initiation: one 90 min live session.
  2. Weekly Meeting Access: 1 hr live sessions Oct–Jan, themed by suit, guaranteed 1+ slot/month.
  3. Four Zines: co-created by the society, featuring you and mailed!
  4. Secret Digital Directory: bypass the awkward & share what and how you want to connect (tarot and beyond)!
  5. Dissolution: a one-time live closing meeting where we destroy the society at the end of January.
  6. Sane Group Sizes: all initiations and meetings are capped at 11 humans (except the dissolution).
  7. No Randos: no new members are accepted after September initiations end!
  8. A Commitment that Ends: the society implodes and ends itself, so no ghosting or guilt required

(if you want more detail and dates they're below, keep going)

What Will It Cost?

you'll Spend:

$350 total.

Two Ways to Pay:

1. Pay $350 in full

OR

2. Pay $175 now and $35/month, Sept–Jan

Money tight? Email me ([email protected])and we can see if we can figure something out.

Once you submit your payment, you will receive an email with next steps to book your initiation.

Where Will The Money Go?

For the Society: It will cover the technology and software used to run the meetings and create society materials, as well as the  publication and distribution of the zine.

For Maggie: Helps cover part of my needs under capitalism (food, shelter, healthcare), & my energy for holding and tending to the Society for five months.

What Are the Zine and Directory?

 Zine

&

 Directory

ZINE

Think part yearbook, part group art project.

It's a way we can get to know each other without notifications and most importantly…CREATIVELY!

There will be four issues and each one will contain…

Member Introductions: you get at least a full page in one issue to introduce yourself. Inspiration and optional templates will be provided!

Meeting Musings: reflections, quotes, and moments pulled from the previous month's meetings.

By the fourth issue, you'll have a collection of who everyone is, and a little stack of weird.

Oh, we will also name the zine together, because DUH…

DIRECTORY

You won't need to wait for the zine to get to know other members.

The Directory is a shared (secure) space where everyone in the Society (and only the society) has the choice to share preferences like how they'd like to be reached, and on what terms (think: timezone, contact method, group chat preferences, response-time expectations).

The Directory's also where you can share what you'd love people to reach out about, tarot or not…

Then you do the thing! Reach out to other people!

What Happens During Meetings And When Are They?

Meetings

You've heard of a rage room, smash some plates, get your anger out? Think of our meetings as a (safe) projection room.

The concept is simple, each week we will:

  1. Pull a card, based on a prompt.
  2. Document our reaction to the card. Sometimes that's a doodle, sometimes a bulleted list, sometimes a journal entry. You'll be guided through it.
  3. Share what the experience was like, and what came up for us.

Why? Because once your reaction is on paper in front of you, we can start noticing the threads connecting all of us.

The prompts we use each month are based pulled from each suit of the tarot.

  • October: Intellect (Swords)
  • November: Emotions (Cups)
  • December: Behavior (Pentacles)
  • January: Energy (Wands)

Signups open monthly to society members only, so you can stay flexible.

You're guaranteed one meeting a month, but come as many times as space allows. If enthusiasm is off the charts, we'll add more meetings (gotta avoid revolt and panic attacks).

Bonus: No new members can join after September, so you'll never walk into a room of randos, and since the mix shifts each time, no two meetings are ever the same.

What Happens During Initiation/Dissolution And When Are They?

 Initiation

&

DISSOLUTION

INITIATION

Before the weekly meetings start, everyone goes through initiation.

There's no hazing, or weird chants to memorize.

Instead we will:

  • probably fight with Zoom or at least be awkward for the first few minutes
  • DEFINITELY play with our cards
  • for some of us share pronouns
  • hopefully meet some pets
  • name our zine
  • …and there will be plenty of time to answers questions and get settled

90 minutes, on Zoom.

 Max 11 people.

Pick 1 of 4 dates in September.

DISSOLUTION

There may or may not be fire (yes, even on Zoom).

The downfall of any society is thinking it's permanent, and so instead of fading into an abandoned group chat nobody has the heart to leave, we will destroy our society.

1 hour, on Zoom.

Whole Society. End of January.

Exact date and time TBD by members.

faq

What do I need to bring? Do I need a specific tarot deck?

Nope, any deck works. I'll use the Rider-Waite-Smith, so if you don't own one yet, that's a solid place to start. Then you only need to show up with something to write with and on.

How does group size and scheduling actually work?

Every event runs no matter what — a full room of 11 or just you and one other human, connection has no minimum (dissolution is the one exception). You pick your initiation after payment. Weekly meeting signups go out a month ahead, first come first served. The same humans make up the society, but who shows up to any given meeting will vary. If you miss your one guaranteed meeting for the month, you can reschedule within that month if space allows  and if none of the 4 initiation dates work for you, we'll set up a 45-minute 1:1 instead

What platform do we use, and are sessions recorded?

Just Zoom for live sessions, no Discord or fancy apps. The secret digital directory lives on a secure web-based site, members only, and anything you share there is entirely optional. Sessions aren't recorded.  Recaps live in the zines instead.

Do I need to be in the US for the mailed zine?

It ships internationally from the US, unless your country's on the USPS suspension list. Can't receive physical mail? You'll get a digital version instead. You'll add your mailing address at sign-up, and everything gets reconfirmed closer to initiation.

What's the actual cost breakdown?

$350 total: $175 due now, then $35/month recurring (Sept 30, Oct 31, Nov 30, Dec 31, and Jan 31).

No added costs for supplies, decks, or shipping.

What if I need to cancel or change my mind?

Full refund up to 14 days before your initiation. After that window, there are no refunds and you'll still owe remaining payments , those fund the society, since no new members join after September.

Who's this for? LGBTIA+ and ND friendly?

18+, no ceiling. Run by a queer and nd human. Vibe is playful, kind, curious, and ethical, all the good things.

Is $350 the total cost, or are there extra fees?

Neither. Connection and creativity are king here (ew, kings). Reflection and sharing are part of it, but this isn't therapy or a substitute for it, please check in with yourself before signing up and if you have questions about whether it's a good fit, please reach out!

What happens after I submit my payment?

You'll get an email shortly after checkout with a link to book your initiation date — pick 1 of the 4 September dates that works for you. That email will also walk you through any other next steps, so keep an eye on your inbox (and maybe your spam folder, just in case).

Wait Who is Maggie?

Hi, I'm Maggie.

I'd rather you think of me less as "in charge" (ick hierarchies and labels) and more as the person holding the container, setting up the Initiations and Meetings, publishing the zine and making sure the Society remains a safe space to connect and learn from one another.

If you want some “LEGIT” qualifications here is how I know how to do this without it descending into chaos…

  • I taught 13- and 14-year-olds for almost ten years. (Don't get me started on how much I miss it some days or how mad it makes me at the education system. Actually, do get me started, if you want.
  • I have a master's in education (fuck loans)
  • I've been running group tarot spaces, in person and online since 2022.
  • I've also dabbled extensively in coaching and oddles of random operational, behind-the-scenes stuff that makes a thing like this actually work.

Mostly, though, I'm one of you which means I have a lot of other qualifications that aren't quite translatable.

You know how it goes.
